Matthew Button Manager Matt’s background is in psychology and youth work and he has spent the last 16 years working in this area. He has been involved in the mentoring programme right from its inception and continues to enjoy supporting mentors to make a difference. He works alongside the board in developing the programme across Christchurch so more young people who need a mentor can have one. |

Vanessa Palmer Mentor Coordinator My name is Vanessa and I joined the team in November 2011, having been a Board Member for 3 years. When the opportunity came up to work for Big Brothers Big Sisters I knew it was something I couldn’t pass up. I have a passion for community and I feel so blessed to be able to meet with people everyday who are volunteering and stepping up to make a difference. I see the impact mentoring has on everyone involved – and feel fortunate to be a part of the story. |

Lizzie Whitcombe Mentoring Coordinator My name is Lizzie and I have been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters since September 2008. I still get a buzz out of seeing the faces of the children when they meet their mentor for the first time, and through seeing them smile as soon as their mentor’s name is mentioned. It is hugely rewarding to see confidence and self esteem grow through the input of volunteers. Simply put, I love my job because mentoring works! |
